Hondaís first snowmobile engine ‚ serial #0000001

Shown below is a monster Honda built in 1970 with Polaris as an experiment. The sled used a Polaris chasis and had a 750cc Honda four-stroke, four-cylinder motorcycle engine, complete with gearbox. Exhaust exited through four chrome pipes along the tunnel. The sled was too heavy to be practical, and insiders say it was displayed at a motorcycle show to keep up the hopes of Honda dealers who wanted a sled to sell. Honda also built some four-stoke powered test sleds for Raider.
